Off for Summer Vacation

We're off until Labor Day. Have a fiction-filled summer!

Dear Friends,

Last Sunday marked the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, and also the official start to summer. So we’re taking this as our cue to begin summer vacation. We’ll return to our normal publication schedule after Labor Day. See you in September!

But before we head off, we wanted to say “Thank you,” once again, for your readership and support. We had another great year, including a marvelous celebration of Short Story Month in May. In case you missed it, here’s a link to our Short Story Month posts. You’ll find:

  • Interviews with Kelly Link, Peter LaSalle, Kelly Luce, Megan Mayhew Bergman, Nathan Poole, Rebecca Makkai, Liam Callanan, Robin McLean, Roy Kesey, and others;
  • Reviews of new story collections from Matt Sumell, Diane Cook, and Antonio Tabucci; and
  • Stories We Love posts on work by Adam Haslett, Charles Baxter, Amy Gustine, Mike Meginnis, and Julia Elliott, to name a few.

Come back this fall for an equally wonderful line-up. We’ll be featuring our usual mix of essays, interviews, reviews, and Shop Talk posts by, with, or about such writers as: Jennine Capó Crucet, Kamel Daoud, Rebeccca Dinerstein, Julia Pierpont, Sung Woo, Julianna Baggott, M.O. Walsh, Tom Franklin, and more.

In the meantime, we wish you a fiction-filled summer!
