May is Short Story Month – 2020 Edition

Join us for our twelfth-annual celebration of the short story, as we dedicate the month of May to short fiction.

Today we kick off our twelfth-annual celebration of Short Story Month, dedicating our May content exclusively to the short form. As always, we’ve lined up some wonderful features:

  • Interviews with Ellen Prentiss Campbell, Peter Kispert, Catherine Lacey, Mark Polanzak, Sara Rauch, and others.
  • Reviews of recent story collections by Richard Ford, Emily Wortman-Wunder, and more.
  • Essays on the work of Aimee Bender and Robert Olen Butler.
  • Stories We Love features on the work of such writers as Laura van den Berg, T.C. Boyle, Raymond Carver, Tom Franklin, Tillie Olsen, George Saunders, and others.

We hope you’ll join us regularly throughout the next few weeks, and that you’ll help us spread the word.

In the meantime, here’s a 2011 guest post from Dan Wickett of The Emerging Writers Network and Dzanc Books on the origins of Short Story Month.
