Dixon Hearne teaches and writes in Louisiana. His short fiction has been twice nominated for the Pushcart Prize and earned numerous other honors. He is the author of several recent books, including Native Voices, Native Lands (2014 Spur Award Finalist) and Plantatia: High-toned and Lowdown Stories of the South, which was nominated for the Hemingway Foundation/PEN award and received the Creative Spirit Award-Platinum for best general fiction book. Other work appears in New Orleans Review,Louisiana Literature, Cream City Review, Hawai’i Pacific Review, Potomac Review, New Plains Review, Louisiana Review, Big Muddy, Roanoke Review, Wisconsin Review, and many other magazines, journals, and anthologies. He is currently at work on a novel and another short story collection.
