Robert L. Shuster’s novel, To Zenzi (winner of the 2019 AWP Prize for the Novel), will be released by New Issues Press on April 15th. His short fiction has appeared in North American Review, Witness, Stone Canoe, and War, Literature & the Arts (among others), and in the anthologies Micro Fiction (W.W. Norton) and Yellow Silk II (Warner Books). He wrote for The Village Voice for a number of years, and lives in Westchester County, NY.
Robert L. Shuster examines works of fiction that purport to be real accounts, analyzing how authenticating elements influence our engagement with stories, as well as how these techniques shaped his own debut novel, To Zenzi.
