When Sam Tschida isn’t writing rom-coms or editing fiction, you can find her living her own romantic comedy. It’s set in St. Paul, MN, and it is more character- than plot-driven, but not in a literary way—more in a, “OMG, what the hell is going on” way? There are four kids, two dogs, and zero remotes. It’s not an anti-screen thing. They’re just lost. Her debut novel, Siri, Who Am I? will be out spring 2020 with Quirk Books.
“When I critique the Midwest, my intention is to do so with love and some self-awareness about my own character defects. And some humility.” Beth Mayer and Sam Tschida chat about Beth’s new collection, We Will Tell You Otherwise, out now from Black Lawrence Press.
